Margaret Atwood Early Life :
Margaret Allenor Atwood CC ONT FRSC FRSL is a Canadian poet, novelist, literary critic, registrar, inventor, teacher and environmental activist. He has published seventy books of poetry, sixteen novels, ten books of non-stories, eight collections of short stories, eight children's books, and a graphic novel, as well as several small press versions in poetry and stories.
Atwood and his writings have won several awards and honours, including the Man Booker Prize, the Arthur C. Clark Award, the Governor General's Award, the Franz Kafka Award, and the National Book Critics and the Pen Center USA Lifetime Achievement Awards. Atwood is also the inventor and developer of longpen and related technologies that facilitate remote robot writing of documents.
Atwood was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, as carlo Edmund Atwood, an antomologist and three children of Margaret Dorothy (Nee Kilam), a former dietitian and nutritionist from Woodville, Nova Scotia. Due to his father's ongoing research into One Antomology, Atwood spent most of his childhood in Backwood, northern Quebec, and travelled further and further between Ottawa, Salt Stee. Mary, and Toronto. She had not gone to school completely until she was eight years old.
He became a terrific reader of literature, Dale Pocketbook Secrets, Grims' Fairy Tales, Canadian Animal Stories and Comic Books. He attended Lyside High School in Leeside, Toronto, and graduated in 1957. Atwood started writing plays and poems at the age of six.
Atwood's novels Surfing, The Blind Killer and The Robber Bride have received all screen adaptations. The Hamdid Tale, also known as Opera, was starred in the 1990 film as the title character Offer to Natasha Richardson, which included Aidan Quinn, Elizabeth McGorn, Fay Dunway and Robert Duwall. (The script was written by Harold Pinter. )
Decades later, The Hamdid Tale was adapted to Hulu in a spring 2017 TV minisaires starring Elisabeth Moss as The Android, as well as same as Sameera Willey, Alexis Bledel and Joseph Fins. He later won several Emmy Awards, including the outstanding drama series, which gave Hulu his first Emmy award.
Also, Atwood's novel Elyas Grace, a murder story founded in Upper Canada in the mid-19th century, released as Netflix Minisaires in the fall of 2017. (Atwood is camos in both series. Mad Adam Trilogy has also been taken up by HBO for future adaptation.
Atwood's other novels include the real The Double Woman (1969); Surfing (1972; film 1981), exploring the relationship between nature and culture which focuses on the return of a woman to her childhood home in the northern jungle of Quebec; Lady Oracle (1976); Cat's Eye (1988); The Rober Bride (1993; television film 2007); And Elyas Grace (1996), a fictional account of a real-life Canadian girl found guilty of two murders in a sensational 1843 trial; Based on later work, a TV minirees was aired in 2017, written by Atwood and Sarah Polly. Atwood's 2005 novel, The Peneloped: The Myth of Penelope and Odyssey, was inspired by Homer Odyssey.
Most of Atwood's stories have been translated into many foreign languages. A new Atwood novel immediately becomes a Canadian, American and international bestseller.
